We started the Hog Cheese Project on Saturday. I baited 2 bait sites and one trap, my other trap had a hole from a hog escape. We went out last night to check the trap and try to smack us a hog off the bait sites. To our surprise we had 3 hogs in the trap! Yes, 3 boars! We knew the Hog Cheese would do good because of the strong aroma but never did we guess it would catch hogs on the first time we set the trap using it. We trap a lot and usually I bait the area around the traps and inside the trap a couple times before we catch hogs. Some are trap shy and I’ll leave the trap locked open baited inside for a week or two then set it when I feel like they are going inside and feel ok eating the bait in it. This trap had not been baited since before turkey season, a month ago. I did not bait it and lock the door open. I wanted to see if they wanted the Hog Cheese bad enough to dive right in. They did! Our bait sites were HAMMERED! They even ate the bark off a nearby tree that I got some Hog Cheese on. We are more than happy to say that Hog Cheese by Big Game Butter is 704 Outdoors Approved. We are definitely going to continue to use it and if your serious about hog hunting, you better get some Hog Cheese!
